The
Artist
Kali Pratt Bennert began her business in the fall of 1997.
She wanted to create a product that added more fun to people's lives.
That is why she chose children's furniture. Special furniture - just their
size - that makes everyone smile. Kali studied fine arts at Simmons College
in Boston, MA. After working in Advertising as a Graphic Designer, she
decided to start this business. She is dedicated to having fun and will
try to paint anything you can think of.
The Products
Most of Kali's products are now made by her woodworker
who is located in St. George, Maine. A husband and wife team create most
of her products from Baltic Birch Plywood (very sturdy and strong) and
Northern White Pine. Neither of these materials have knots. This is important
because knots do eventually come through paint, even when sealed. This
couple works hard to make and design a better product for Kali to paint.
All other products are made by distributors which are carefully picked
for their craftsmanship.
